Cloth Diaper Biz:
What do we mean by "Cloth Diaper Biz"? Well,
basically you would design and sew Cloth Diapers. Some people may think
that cloth diapering systems are a thing of the past, but that is not true.
I personally prefer Cloth Diapers over disposables any day. There are MANY
benefits to Cloth Diapers, a few to mention are they are nicer to our
environment, they are BIG money-savers for us FRUGAL shoppers, and nowadays
there are some CUTE Cloth Diapers that have great absorbency. You can
create a website and sell the diapers online for a larger audience, you can sell
them in auction, and you can create flyers and advertise them around your home
town. Babies are everywhere, so there is not a worry on the NEED of
diapers. Researching the pros and cons of Cloth Diapers versus Disposables
might be a great selling point.I decided to start my own daughter on Cloth
Diapers, and I met a woman named Scottie that owns a Cloth Diaper Biz called
Dingleberryz.
You REALLY need to take a look at her diapers to see them, you can view them at
her website or, take a look at her

She has answered some questions for us regarding her business and how to get
started:
What first interested you in starting to make and sell cloth diapers?
In about the 8th month of my last pregnancy I realized that our budget was
really tight. I began thinking of ways to cut corners. What could I eliminate
from our lifestyles that would save us money that we didn't really need?
DIAPERS!!! I found out that fitteds were available now days and I ordered a few
styles. When the baby was born, I tried them and found that there were several
things that I didn't like about them...so I set out to perfect them!! Once I
figured it out, I LOVED sewing them...you can do just about anything to a cloth
diaper and it's still CUTE! I figured I could put my new invention to work and
help other mommies while at the same time keeping me busy and buying my
groceries!!!
Your little cloth diapers are the cutest thing in the world! What challenges
did you face in perfecting the one size fits all pattern? Many Many trial
and errors! You should have seen my first one! It was horrible!! But feature by
feature I got it. I would use my baby as a tester and I would measure her and
figure out hook and loop placement....whew!!! I thought I would never figure it
out! I called them my prototypes! Each one got me closer to the perfect design!
How do you feel about your business? I LOVE IT!!!!! I absolutely ADORE
sewing these diapers!! I guess that's why I have such fast turnaround, because
when I get an order, I run to the sewing machine and sometimes stay up til 5 am
sewing before I realize what time it is!
How does your family feel about your business? They like it because
it's what buys the groceries! LOL!!!
How long have you been in business? I have only been in business for
about 7 months! I am soo surprised at the response I have had! I offer the trial
set for moms to see for themselves, and just about EVERYONE that has tried them
have ordered more. I stay pretty busy!
There are women that are interested in learning about Sewing Cloth Diapers,
what advice do you have for them? JUST GO FOR IT!! BE CREATIVE!! With cloth
diapers, anything goes! Sewing cloth diapers only takes minimal sewing skills
and it is highly rewarding! I feel blessed by God that I can do something to
help the EARTH, babies, and other moms by doing something that I love!
